General objective is to contribute to raising the quality of life, and the level of achievement of disabled people, the elders and ill people with moving difficulties, as well as mothers, fathers and guardians with babies, greater mobility, independence and integration into the community through provision of architectural accessibility of public facilities and adaptation of curbs on the sidewalks in Bihac Municipality.

Specific objectives of the project are to ensure safe movement for 300 wheelchair users in the municipality, for at least 1000 old and ill persons with moving difficulties, as well as for mothers, fathers and guardians with babies, by restoration and adaptation of 15 curbs on the sidewalk according to standards for wheelchair users that will provide access to some of the major public institutions; impact on improvement of life conditions, work and integration of disabled people in social life by the construction of ramps at 2 public facilities; increase social awareness about the status and rights of disabled people, their contribution to the development of society, dignity and needs, through media promotions, promotional events and roundtable discussions will be organized to inform general public about issues and rights of disabled people.

Results:

  • 15 curbs on the sidewalk adapted according to standards for 300 wheelchair users that will provide access to some of the major public institutions;
  • Life conditions, work and integration of disabled people in social life by the construction of ramps at 2 public facilities improved;
  • Social awareness about the status and rights of disabled people, their contribution to the development of society, dignity and needs, through media promotions, promotional events and roundtable discussions will be organized to inform general public about issues and rights of disabled people increased.
